So, its highly possibly this was one of the last guns that were finished and delivered to the French. The French guns running from "about 31,000 to 47,000" and the German ones starting there. ![]() The only differences listed is the addition of a German militray test proof on the barrel seen through the ejection port and the addition of the waffenamt on the slide. ![]() I would expect the same to be said here in this case. A later serial number could have been finished before an earlier one and vice versa and that there is some overlap of a few hundred to be expected. so when there was no precise cut off in serial numbers. I know I had spoken with Anthony on this in regards to FN, and he stated there is always an overlap of guns on the production floor. Tough to say.the cited sources (Medlin and Stills) all list the production numbers as "starting at about 47,000". ![]()
